Inventory Supervisor

Salary Range $75,000 - $90,000

Hours: Availability from 6 am - 10 pm (Flexibility required), occasional Saturdays

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory control procedures, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, and maintaining efficient inventory operations. This role involves supervising inventory specialists, coordinating cycle counts, and implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The Inventory Supervisor works closely with warehouse personnel, production leadership, and the shipping leadership to resolve discrepancies and optimize inventory management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the Inventory team, ensuring all inventory processes are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee and execute daily cycle counts of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non-conforming materials per schedule.
  • Develop and improve processes and procedures related to inventory activities including cycle counts and inventory adjustments or changes
  • Analyze variances between system inventory and actual stock, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize ERP software, Excel/Google Sheets and all other company tools to monitor inventory transactions, review stock levels, and track inventory movement.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly and in designated warehouse locations, reducing misplaced or misclassified inventory.
  • Develop procedures for and help lead biannual full inventory cycle counts
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count, inspect, and weigh materials for accurate stock assessment.
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, and over/under amounts to management on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with warehouse personnel and production supervisors to improve inventory accuracy and streamline operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and develop and implement process improvements to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Ensure all inventory team members are sufficiently trained in warehouse procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Regularly evaluate employees' work and issue re-training as needed. Maintain warehouse safety guidelines and contribute to safety meetings held regularly.
  • Support warehouse operations by operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Communicate with vendors and carriers as needed for warehouse upkeep and efficient shipping and delivery.

Education, Experience & Skills Required

  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management in a manufacturing setting with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP, MRP, Google Suite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills, with the ability to train and mentor employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to adapt to change and problem-solve effectively.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and carrying of inventory items.
  • Regular use of computers, ERP systems, and phone equipment.
  • Ability to work extended hours or overtime, including occasional Saturdays, as needed.
