We are seeking a qualified Quality Control Technician to perform routine quality inspection on in-process or finished goods according to company standards, customer specifications, and any applicable regulatory standards. A Quality Control Technician collects samples and performs assigned inspection tasks using various types of inspection equipment; ensures documentation is complete and accurate. Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 10am-8:30pm (with Fridays off, enjoy a 3 day weekend every week!)
Responsibilities:
- Assist with internal quality audits, including gathering data and creating action plans
- Support ISO and AIB quality systems ensuring compliance to all Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 9001 Standards
- Work closely with other departments to improve the level of service and quality provided to the customer
- Perform product quality inspection, at start-up and throughout the shift, on finished product samples and record results; help increase awareness of what staff should be looking for to help eliminate defects based on findings
- Assist management in areas of data collection, data analysis, and continuous process improvement as directed
- Work with management to supply information, corrective and preventive actions, responses to complaints and other correspondence as needed
- Complete accurate documentation of quality processing documents, including but not limited to Certificate of Compliance (COC) and Certificate of Assurance (COA).
- Train production personnel on quality processes such as, but not limited to, workmanship standards, inspection, HAACP and GMPS
- Execute the Test & Hold policy
- Record, manage, and comply with non-conformance product procedures.
- Manage retention sample program
- Conduct inspections for clean equipment
- Assist with prototype product analysis
- Conduct production line audits as required per work instruction; identifying quality issues occurring in production and packaging, propose corrective action, and conduct follow up to ensure situation is remedied
- Conduct post-production verification of documentation (quality packaging checks, cleaning checks, control points and critical control points)
- Identify severity of quality issues and properly escalate
- Assist with transitioning between production runs
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience with quality inspections in a manufacturing environment
- Must have a keen eye for quality and strict attention to detail
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Take initiative and make decisions in regards to product quality
- Work independently without immediate supervision
- Effectively communicate with appropriate personnel
- Comfortable with using computers and various software applications
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting of up to 40 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Frequently reaching, grabbing, twisting, pushing, pulling and bending
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
