PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing A/E firm with 20 office locations in ten states and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast, is seeking a Bridge Inspector Team Leader to join our Bridge Inspection Group in our Baltimore MD or Wethersfield, CT offices.
Position Overview:
As a member of our bridge inspection team, the qualified candidate will perform structural safety inspections and load ratings for various transportation agencies. In addition, the qualified candidate will assist with developing inspection schedules, securing required access equipment, developing, and executing traffic control concepts, securing railroad access permits, and developing inspection reports. Occasional night work and overnight assignments are anticipated.
Responsibilities:
- Perform technical inspections of bridges and related structures based on National Bridge Inspection Standards. 2.2.5.2 Qualifications.
- Inspects bridges in accordance with applicable manuals.
- Prepares inspection notes and sketches covering all bridge defects noted.
- Operates bridge inspection equipment as required.
- Evaluates seriousness of bridge defects and makes on-the-spot decisions as required.
- Prepares accurate reports of all bridge inspections.
- Ensures on-site traffic protection.
- Overnight assignments are anticipated.
- Travel assignments are anticipated.
Minimum Requirements:
- NHI 2-week class (130055) is required.

Qualify as a NBIS Team Leader with any one of the following;
- Registered Professional Engineer and 6 months Bridge Inspection experience.
- 5 years of Bridge Inspection experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, an EIT certification, and 2 years Bridge Inspection experience.
- Associates Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 4 years of Bridge Inspection experience.
- NHI Fracture Critical (NSTM) Certification is preferred.
- Physical ability to withstand harsh work environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with little supervision.
- Availability to travel through the continental US.
