Material Testing Technician

PRIME Construction Management & Survey, Inc.,(PRIME CM&S) a wholly owned subsidiary of PRIME AE Group, Inc. (), a multi-faceted A&E firm with 20 offices in 10 States and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast, is seeking Material Testing Technicians for utility, roadway, highway, bridge and treatment plant projects in the Central Ohio area.

We are seeking all levels of Material Testing Technicians from entry level to experienced. Starting pay with no experience is $25/hour.

Position Overview:

The primary function of this role will be to provide material testing on construction projects in the field. Material Testing Technicans utilize a variety of instruments to determine whether materials delivered to a construction project conform to state and local specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Testing concrete, mortar, grout, and other cementitious materials on construction project jobsites and at our Columbus Laboratory.
• Compaction Testing in the field and utilizing the Nuclear Density Guage.
• Prepare Daily Material Testing Reports that must be neat, clear, accurate, and organized.
• Perform various Laboratory Soil Testing.
• Correspond and daily communications with Laboratory Manager, Project Inspectors, and Project Managers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in construction material testing is preferred. Entry Level positions are available (no experience required) and will be considered.
• General competence in mathematics will be necessary to pass certification exams.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. of materials, equipment available to assist in moving supplies.
• A valid drivers' license.
• Must be punctual and able to work outdoors, often for the duration of the workday.
• Other certifications such as ODOT, NICET, Asphalt, and American Concrete Institute (ACI) concrete field testing, etc. are preferred but not required. However, all necessary certifications and recertifications will be paid by PRIME CM&S.
