Responsibilities

The Providence Medical Center Rehabilitation Department is looking for a dynamic Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. This is a per diem position with weekday and weekend hours available. This SPLs duties include, but are not limited to:

• provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting, as well as patients in the hospital's Skilled Nursing Unit
• the candidate who fills this position will take one weekend of call per month for hospital inpatients.
• responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician
• assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in speech therapy, required
• licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
• MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred
• one year of experience in Acute Care, preferred
• at least one year of experience in a hospital setting, preferred
• current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current
