Responsibilities
The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator routinely books surgical cases for patients. Coordinates and confirms the acquisition of services, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel. Checks, enters, and reconciles the daily patient charges. Answers phones and appropriately communicates messages. Assists Manager / Director with additional clerical duties. Works with coworkers, other departments, and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Previous experience in a Medical Care Setting.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Strong clerical and computer skills.
- Command of the English language.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in the OR preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
