SUMMARY :

Receives incoming shipments / deliveries from the vendors; counts, measures or weighs them to ensure that these are in accordance with the quantity specified in the Purchase Orders, invoices and delivery receipts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with requesting departments regarding inspection of incoming shipments to ensure that these are within the required specifications.
  • Segregates shipments to be returned and records factors or reasons for the return.
  • Coordinates with Purchasing regarding the pickup of rejected shipments.
  • Delivers all incoming shipments to the proper requesting departments and / or storage facility.
  • Stores the incoming shipments in the appropriate storage facilities following the first in first out procedure.
  • Attaches date identification on the shipments.
  • Receives requisition slips for supplies, materials needed from the different departments.
  • Fills the requisitions and places products on the elevator for the kitchen runners.
  • Delivers the requested products to the different properties using the company vehicle.
  • Maintains a daily checklist on the condition of the company vehicle
  • Maintains the general cleanliness of the different storage facilities and receiving dock at all times.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to carry out detailed oral or written instructions; and ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to drive the company owned vehicle.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle objects and tools; and regularly lift and / or move objects 50 pounds repetitively. Also the ability to climb stairs, bend and extended walking while carrying 50 lbs is preferred.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The employee is exposed to extreme temperatures
  • EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have one (1) to three (3) months related experience and / or training.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Valid Driver License required

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
