Daily Responsibilities:
- Must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment, assisting the staff in implementing a quality Preschool-age educational program and developing positive relationships with the children and their parents
- The After-School Teacher observes and documents children's interests and progress, relays that information back to parents and staff, and implements developmentally appropriate activities under the direction of the Program Director
- Develop and implement school-age program activities and curriculum and encourage participation by children.
- Establish a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all students.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily reports.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling•Help ensure smooth, daily transitions for children.
- Follow all program policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate accidents, sicknesses, and incidents to the Program Director in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
Job description
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional education experience and classroom teaching experience preferred.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
