CNC Programmer

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Programmer to join our team in Reisterstown, MD. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying CNC programs to produce precision components. Your expertise in CAD, milling machines, and programming will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify CNC programs for various machining operations
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications
  • Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges and calipers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programming or machine performance
  • Maintain documentation of programs, tooling, and setup instructions
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience programming CNC Mills and Lathes.
  • Experience with CNC Lathe, Mill Turn, and 3- and 5- axis milling machines.
  • Proficient in Mastercam 2020 preferred
  • Experience programming offline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven cycle time reduction and program optimization.
  • Ability to identify training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design and implement best machining practices.
  • G-code familiarity.
  • Familiarity with multiple types of material; emphasis: titanium, Inconel, and other exotic alloys.
  • Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards as it applies to an aerospace and defense environment.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals driven by metrics.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
