Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

A successful candidate for this position will possess the willingness, knowledge, skill and abilities to maintain all equipment, paint lines, assembly lines and related support machines for all shifts.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be willing to work safely as a part of a team or individually
  • Perform and maintain preventive maintenance program and services
  • Safely troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to facilities
  • Maintain safe and clean work area
  • Show initiative for on-the-spot repairs to equipment and facility

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Attend/participate in workshops, seminars, etc., or research to maintain knowledge of “state-of-the-art” developments in assigned functional area as it pertains to repairing and maintaining equipment.

Employee will have the opportunity to train, mentor and educate machine operators on basic total productive maintenance (TPM) to increase longevity of production equipment and tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Technical training in electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding
  • Electrical experience
  • Basic AC/DC electrical circuits college course or related experience
  • Minimum 24 months experience troubleshooting/repairing industrial equipment in an industrial environment

      SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Must possess the ability to plan out work in an efficient manner.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate technical aptitude to perform equipment adjustments and repairs. 
  • Must have working knowledge of quality and safety requirements and processes in painting and fabrication manufacturing environment. 
  • Must be capable of multitasking and keeping production on schedule while performing maintenance duties to equipment.
  • Must possess ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.

      EQUIPMENT USED

  • Hand tools, power tools, machine tools, welder, band saw, drill press, pipe threader, forklift, platform lifts and other specialty equipment
  • Safety equipment – Safety glasses, steel toed shoes, hearing protection, gloves, face shields and other equipment as designated by the job being performed

      PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Team member must be able to climb, stand, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and freely use hands and arms to feel, touch, reach and grasp tools and equipment. 
  • Required to work at varying heights- must be able to use lift equipment and climb ladders
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly lifts and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

TRAVEL

Minimal travel will be required.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT

Prince Manufacturing does not require COVID-19 Vaccination or require you to provide vaccination status. Masking is optional at our facilities.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for several hours at a time.  Repetitive arm movement is also required to perform this job.  The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment due to working with and around flammables and other chemicals.  Due to noise levels this job requires the employee to wear hearing protection in designated areas.  This area is heated in cold weather conditions however, not air conditioned for hot weather.  Therefore, the employee is subjected to heat conditions as it relates to outside temperatures. Employee will be required to work outside as needed in all weather conditions.  This job requires the employee to move in and around a moving manufacturing line and enter confined spaces.
