What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse and Logistics Courier position at Prince Willam Water?
Performs courier functions including but not limited to collection, pickup, and delivery of secure and sensitive mail, papers, documents, and packages. Picks up and delivers supplies requiring light to heavy physical effort. Operates various Prince William Water vehicles in accomplishing position responsibilities. - Perform courier service from Prince William Water’s mailroom to the post office and from Prince William Water’s satellite locations.
- Process outgoing U.S. Mail. Secures postage meter after each use and advises Supervisor of postage balance. Add funds to the postage meter as directed by the Supervisor.
- Prepare and track outgoing shipments via UPS or freight companies following rules established by UPS or the Department of Transportation.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance checks of assigned vehicles and make arrangements for periodic servicing; inform Supervisor or Fleet Maintenance of any vehicle warning lights.
- Pick up and deliver various supplies to and from Prince William Water departments. Comply with applicable safety rules and regulations.
- Perform logistical support duties for all special events and training programs for Prince William Water, including but not limited to; food pickup and delivery, room set up, transportation of staff to the event, and other setup duties.
- Communicate with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure efficient delivery.
- Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
- Operate a Prince William Water vehicle.
- May be deemed essential at any time.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Skills and knowledge to operate vehicles over various roads under changing weather conditions.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Or a combination of education and experience as described above.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver`s license consistent with Prince William Water policy requirements.
- Valid Forklift Operators Certification upon hire or required to obtain and maintain within 90 days of employment in this position.
