REGIONAL DIRECTOR PLANT OPERATIONS
Responsibilities
The Regional Maintenance Director assists the Facility Maintenance Directors with the implementation and execution of Maintenance programs and initiatives in assigned communities. This individual also supports Maintenance and functions as a member of the Maintenance team.
- Train Maintenance team at assigned communities.
- Assist with diagnosing and solving larger maintenance expense repairs.
- Ensure the proper maintenance services are being performed according to standards at assigned communities.
- Ensure all life safety systems are maintained and operational.
- Allocate time needed to train and assist communities without a Maintenance Leader.
- Execute assigned capital projects timely and within budget.
- Work with maintenance directors to support and prepare for Life Safety surveys.
- Assist in emergency and crisis response either in person or through directing and communicating with community leads.
- Assist in the development of a facility-based and community-based hazards vulnerability assessment as part of emergency preparedness planning.
- Provide oversight of staff and contractors to ensure projects are completed correctly and within budget.
- Conduct ongoing inspections of facility to identify areas and equipment requiring improvement/repairs. Assist with making repairs and installations as needed.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
- Must have, as a minimum, three (3) year(s) experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/plant related position.
- Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
- Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing maintenance functions in nursing care facilities.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
- Must possess the ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction and equipment installation.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel and support agencies.
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which may include a medical and physical examination.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Required travel on behalf of the Company up to 75% of the time.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
- Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards and Travel Policy.
- Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal requirements.
