Accountabilities

• Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids. - 50%

• Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses. - 20%

• Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes. - 15%

• Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped For Life office. - 5%

• Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses. - 5%

• Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity. - 5%

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training

• No experience required.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

• NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification

• SC Athletic Trainer License/Certification

• CPR Certification

• South CarolinaDRIVERS LICENSE

Other Required Skills and Experience

• 1 or more years of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience - Preferred

• Electronic Medical Records experience - Preferred

• Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field - Preferred

• Requires a high level of physical activity and endurance as well as emotional stability. Constant movement and frequent heavy lifting are required.

• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database and data entry

• Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)

• Mathematical skills
