Zero-Waste Supervisor - Full-time
Pay Rate - $52,000 a year
BASIC FUNCTION
Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Group is hiring a Zero-Waste Supervisor. The primary objective of the Zero Waste Supervisor is to maintain the State Farm Arena's zero-waste status. The Arenas Zero Waste Team is expected to maintain a landfill diversion rate of more than 90% for each event (meaning, over 90% of all Arena waste is recycled, reused, or composted). While a lot goes into leading the Zero Waste operation, the Zero Waste Supervisor must ensure the following for all event and non-event days:

Delegate tasks and uphold rules to ensure the Sorting Team remains productive and safe

Finish sorting and running all waste after each event

Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the designated zero waste areas

Manage the storage and logistics of materials to be donated, reused, and recycled
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

Manage small to large teams (2 to 20) to complete required tasks (sorting, cleaning, organizing, moving, weighing, data collection).

Communicate with Zero Waste Team Leads and Sorters with clarity and control.

Manage the Teams paperwork for all shifts (e.g., timesheets, incident reports, etc.).

Hand-sort waste on a daily/nightly basis. Ensure all sorting is done correctly and completely.

Ensure all sorting equipment is used correctly and safely.

Maintain waste infrastructure inventory and manage its storage and logistics.
-
Responsible for completing shift checklists (pre-event, event, and post-event tasks).

Collect data and maintain databases (e.g., weights, times, costs, hauls, material type, etc.)

Utilize the Atlanta Hawks work order software.
-
Create and execute audits.

Maintain organization, storage, and preparation of donations or precious waste items to be sent to local recyclers/organizations (Salvation Army, the scrap yard, etc.)

Work efficiently and problem-solve on the go; task prioritization is key during fast-paced sorting operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Leadership: Leading teams of at least 15 people
- Regularly manage roughly 15 core Zero Waste Team members and up to 30 workers during events.
- Communicate with Zero Waste Team Leads and Sorters with clarity and control.
- Utilize work order tracking software to keep track of and report status of tasks; including pre-and post-event scheduled tasks, and respond to event-related requests as they arise.
- Transport donations or sorted waste to local recyclers/organizations (CHaRM, Goodwill, etc.).
- Transport people in and out of the Arena (volunteers, sub-contractors, etc.).

Experience with operating a forklift

Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment (up to 200 lbs)

Ability to work a non-standard schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays

Ability to work independently and with team

Experience and interest in sustainability
