Job Summary:
The Corporate Controller will supervise, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities by implementing and maintaining appropriate internal control systems and procedures for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial activity and information.
Responsibilities:
- Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change
- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Accounting cycle management, including month end and year-end closing
- Manage cash position and cash forecasting
- Compiles yearly audit schedules and assists with audit
- Maintain adequate risk management-based internal controls
- Establish proper accounting controls, and safeguarding of asset
- Experience in Sage Intacct and Proliant is Plus
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions a Plus
- Previous experience in a Private Equity company
- Must be comfortable in presenting financial finding to a board and have the ability to make recommendations for change based on variance/ trend analysis findings
· Perform hands-on management of the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and preparation of account reconciliations;
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and controls within the accounting process;
· Perform revenue recognition and cost accrual procedures;
· Manage monthly Purchase Order and cost accruals;
· Ensure proper accumulation and transfer of inter-Store activity and costs;
· Review and file monthly sales tax filings;
· Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports including; but not limited to:
o Flash Reports
o Job Costing and Post-Job Analysis
o Annual Budgets and quarterly Forecasts
o Month-End Reports, including, but not limited to:
§ Revenue comparisons
§ Inventory usage and frequency of use
§ Commissions
§ Overbooked reports
· Coordinate annual financial audits and bank collateral review procedures
· Use data from various systems to create a more proactive approach to sales, marketing, pricing, inventory, and labor analysis
· Create tools and processes to improve and integrate systems
· Develop and implement performance metrics and bench marking tools using data collection to establish appropriate goals
· Use quantitative data to measure progress and create predictive models
· Develop tools to help with forecasting
· Perform month-end variance analysis
Requirements:
