Position Summary :

The Maintenance Technician II will work under the direction of the production team conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities used to manufacture and package probiotic products in a GMP environment.

Schedule : Monday Friday 7 : 00AM-3 : 30PM (ability to be flexible)

Key Job Duties :

  • Learn to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems in production equipment. When ready, be responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including tanks, blenders, freeze dryers, mill, lab equipment, scales, etc.
  • Maintain eSpace Maintenance program of equipment logs, and maintenance Work order request log.
  • Conduct facility preventative maintenance and repairs, including filters, lighting, drywall, doors, basic plumbing and electrical etc.
  • Assist in root cause analysis, breakdown investigations and in suggesting corrective and preventative actions as required.
  • Interface with other managers and supervisors as needed.
  • Perform inventory and ordering of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor boiler, water tower.
  • Perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment to completion concurrently.
  • Use company vehicle to pick up / drop off parts and supplies, and maintain your ability to legally drive.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all company policies to ensure safety and quality.
  • Adhere to safety policies, maintain safety records.
  • Maintain a clean work area; keep organized and audit ready at all times. Complete master clean tasks as assigned.
  • Practice good communication skills and be a team player.
  • Set personal goals and track progress. Seek out training and growth opportunities.
  • Available for emergency call duties and weekend work. In emergency or special project situations, adjust work schedule to support production requirements.

  • Must be able to read, write, and converse in the English language.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of conditions : noise, dust, heavy lifting, repetitive motion, standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to recognize audible hazards.
  • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team, when needed.
  • Must follow GMP, PPE, and company safety policies in performance of job duties.
  • Understand and follow the organization's health and safety policies.
  • Must take part in special / big projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines as described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Participate in the Occupational, Health and Safety training sessions to ensure understanding of the EHS policies.
  • Identify any incidents and potential hazards in the workplace and reportthem to the people leader.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Perform other projects / duties as assigned.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required and maintain in good condition.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace to prevent accidents and health hazards.
  • Work Experience and Education Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 year mechanical or maintenance experience required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment a plus. (Not Required)
  • Knowledge / certification in HVAC, electrical, or refrigeration is a significant plus
