Position Summary:

Procom is seeking a highly skilled Process Metallurgist for a full-time position in North East, PA. The Process Metallurgist will be responsible for developing data on the effects of processing and chemistry changes in various materials and utilizing statistical processing methods to drive continuous process improvement. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key technical initiatives and work in a collaborative environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze customer material specifications
• Serve on inquiry and order review teams
• Develop material specifications for forgings related to purchase orders
• Create internal and supplier work instructions and procedures to meet customer requirements
• Provide technical support to Production, Sales, and Operations teams
• Lead product and process development to support production activities
• Investigate customer claims and present findings both orally and in written reports
• Analyze internal non-conformances and mechanical test failures to determine root cause
• Execute, analyze, and oversee mechanical and metallurgical testing activities
• Conduct failure analysis on mill components and production parts
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, or Material Science & Engineering (or equivalent related experience)
• Five years of experience in non-ferrous metallurgy preferred
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-motivated and a collaborative team player
