Engineering Technician II

Fargo, North Dakota - Full Time

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Fargo, North Dakota. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will develop and evaluate new technologies or methods (mechanics hydraulics algorithms software etc.). The candidate will plan and execute engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well-defined objectives. The candidate will be responsible for problem identification and resolution corrective action tracking reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development. The candidate will be a member of a product/project team and will provide guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

  • Design schedules and perform field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs.
  • Analyze complex test data draw conclusions and summarize reports acting as a liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering.
  • Perform analyses of customer data (i.e. warranty Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) customer satisfaction surveys Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)).
  • Plan and perform analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures.
  • Give work direction to test operators.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents.
  • Coordinate problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.
  • Conduct manual tests of electronic circuits and assemblies, and document results.
  • Rework electronic circuits and assemblies.
  • Build test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support engineering.
  • Set up lab equipment per engineering instruction.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment and products.

Requirements:

  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies to identify the root cause.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams.
  • Ability to maintain necessary product records and documentation.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble products.

Preferred Skills:

  • Possess the ability to solder.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas; electronics, electrician/electrical, contracting, on-road/off-road automotive repair, communication/networking hardware, computer repair, robotics, automation, or mechatronics, HVAC, farming, electric motor repair.
