This sales role will be based remotely in the continental United States


Prognos Health is hiring a Vice President, Business Development (Life Sciences), focused on selling real-world data solutions to life science clients. This role reports into the Chief Commercial Officer and will be a critical contributor to the company’s growth.

As a leading healthcare data managed marketplace, Prognos is unlocking the power of data to improve health by:

  • accelerating time to value by providing pre-integrated, fit-for-use data
  • enhancing data with comprehensive and relevant clinical and non-clinical information


Our clinically-focused analytics platform can query patient-centric data to answer key healthcare questions in minutes. Our solutions leverage multiple datasets from an expanding marketplace including medical claims, prescription claims, and laboratory records enabling our customers to solve for various commercial and clinical use cases, and to perform a variety of analytics across sales and marketing.

The ideal candidate has highly developed consultative selling skills, knowledge of the various data types used by the industry, experience selling complex solutions and proven success partnering with Life Science companies.


Job Responsibilities

  • Delivering on individual sales quotas
  • Developing territory account plans, including prospect identification on behalf of the company
  • Key brand identification, lead targeting efforts, and account planning activities
  • Determine client business strategies to maximize territory sales volume, including frequency of personal visits to client, and telephone contact
  • Prospecting and establishing new client relationships
  • Manages client communication, record keeping and client contact information throughout all phases the sales process and for Salesforce reporting
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Product Development, Legal and Finance staff to validate client needs are aligned with milestones, scope and deliverables
  • Effectively representing the company at conferences and events
  • Day to day sales responsibilities including training on Prognos products, pricing and proposal development, pipeline management within CRM at all stages of the sales cycle, being available for key client meetings, ensuring Prognos staff are focused on client needs
  • Provide executive team updates each week on progress towards goals, critical needs from other internal groups, and access to all ongoing sales pipeline activity, proposals and contracts
  • Use Google Documents/Email/Calendar, Zoom, Powerpoint, Excel to manage daily internal and external workflow, communications, and reporting


Requirements

  • Experience selling complex solutions to life sciences companies is a must
  • Experience selling data and analytics solutions into life sciences a plus
  • Experience selling healthcare data is a requirement
  • Ability to travel 25% or more
  • Ability to establish account plans, engage in positive internal stakeholder collaborations, and deliver on the sales goals while managing client expectations
  • High level of communication skills to manage internal and external expectations of the delivery of our high-value, new-channel healthcare services
  • Track record of personal relationship building and selling into pharmaceutical brand teams with strategic services that aren’t offered by agencies of record
  • Align with Prognos' values and culture
