Job Summary:
The Director of Social Services is responsible for leading the Social Services department. The key responsibilities are noted below:
General Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties
- Provide maintenance and administrate databases including but not limited to AWARDS, CAPS, & CMS, Bamboo HR, and Yardi.
- Lead Special Incident Review Committees for social work issues.
- Co-facilitate weekly Social Work/Property Management meetings.
- Work with program staff to plan program budgets and monitor budget expenses over the course of the contract year.
- Assist in the review of Project FIND social service policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the Fundraising Department on grants and reports pertaining to social work programs.
- Serve as liaison to DHS, HUD, OTDA and other contract and non-contract agencies as needed.
- Foster collaboration with community service providers and local elected officials.
- Enforce corporate compliance protocols, Project FIND employee policies, procedures, and protocols, and incident management policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Participate in department head management meetings as required.
- Ensure collaborative efforts with interagency departments such as the Senior Center, Property Management and Fiscal.
- Approve and monitor fiscal purchases for the department.
- Provide on call service after hours.
Client Care
- Develop and evaluate systems to guarantee quality and efficiency of casework services.
- Ensure service plans and interactions with the clients are appropriately documented.
- Ensure that clients are appropriately screened, evaluated, and processed for all potential entitlements.
- Conduct case review audits and provide corrective action plans when necessary.
- Review all required case management documentation and any data collection tool in use.
- Ensure clear, concise, and professional interventions consistent with the Agency's policies and procedures and evidence-based practices.
- Ensure program compliance with all applicable contract regulations, including OHS, HUD and OTDA requirements.
- Identify gaps in services and work to develop a plan to address these gaps.
- Internal and external Social Work consultation including but not limited to clinical assessment, advocacy, and other needed interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed.
Staff Development
- Train social work staff to identify and develop need-based strategies to approach service recipients.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring of social service staff.
- Participate in professional development and training through agency-wide in-service trainings, outside trainings, and facilitate in-house trainings for staff.
- Conduct group supervision and consultation with DFTA social work and case management staff.
- Direct or delegate the field/task supervision of interns within the department.
Human Resources
- Supervise direct reports and provide feedback through meetings, appraisals, and progressive disciplinary process when necessary.
- Process timesheets for direct reports and oversee the timesheet process for the department in Bamboo HR.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Social Work or related field(s) is required.
- Three to five years of management experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive socialservices, housing placement, and job skills training to homeless, persons with mental health conditions, and substance users.
- Experience in NYC of Homeless Services contract requirements.
- Knowledge of geriatric care for older adults.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities.
- Strong assessment, direct practice, counseling, supervision, community outreach, group leadership and programdevelopment experience preferred. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and database management skills.
- Clinical Supervision of Licensed Masters Social Workers to obtain their clinical licensure (preferred).

Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on call after hours
