General Overall Job Summary:
Assist in the handling sales in the organization and developing sales and marketing strategies. Common duties are identifying potential customers, providing information about company services, building and maintaining customer relations, participating in networking, answering customer inquiries, and training sales staff. Tracking of customers and accounts in sales databases.
EXPECTATIONS AND DELIVERABLES:
Responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Business Development Representatives may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market. Examples of Business Development Representative duties and responsibilities include:
- Identify and establish contact with potential customers and leads
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers through phone calls, emails and site visits
- Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers
- Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales
- Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or vertical territory
- Generate and submit activity tracking to management
- Assist the company in the growth of both geographical company locations – Property Restoration Inc., Hawthorne Property Services and Disaster Clean up.
- Review and advise on department policy, methodologies and SOPs understanding that change is at times needed for modernization and efficiencies
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
Business Development Representatives are members of the sales team who travel to businesses within their respective territories and/or verticals. They meet with business professionals and/or decision makers to present sales proposals, sell them services or address any questions or concerns the customer has. They travel to both prospective and current customers’ locations to check in on their experience with our service, provide a demonstration or answer any questions about the service.
Minimum Qualification Standards:
A successful Business Development Representative will have various skills and qualifications to perform the required duties, including effective communication, excellent follow-up, public speaking, and presentation skills. Additionally, a Business Development Representatives should have knowledge of industry trends, marketing strategies and consumer psychology. Examples of Business Development Representative skills and qualifications include:
- Demonstrated ability in meeting sales objectives
- Impeccable interpersonal communication skills
- Thorough understanding of the industry and industry trends
- Familiarity with marketing strategies and consumer psychology
- Proficiency with the word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability and willingness to travel for trade shows, demonstrations, and client meetings
- Update and maintain CRM (Salesforce data base)
- Setup client meetings
