What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder Lead position at Propulsion Controls Engineering?
Job Summary:
Assists the Foreman in setting up work sites to include hot work notifications, hot work chits, gas free certifications and fire watch coordination. Determines material requirements for repairs. Reads and works from basic work specifications and drawings.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- High School or equivalent level preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience as a welder/fitter within the marine and/or shipyard industry.
- Demonstrate knowledge of industrial processes and safety standards and requirements for hot work including: Marine Chemist Certifications, Shipyard Competent Person updates, Gas Free Work Scopes and Hot Work Permits.
- Demonstrated positions of management and/or leadership.
- Demonstrate conflict resolution capabilities.
- Possess general computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
