ProSearch is hiring a Technical Sales Manager in Plymouth, MA for a confidential manufacturing client seeking a results-driven sales and technical leader. This Technical Sales Manager role oversees a team of experienced professionals, providing hands-on leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance with a strong focus on problem-solving, customer solutions, and continuous improvement. The position is responsible for managing customer inquiries related to pricing, part performance, manufacturability, and supply chain logistics, while driving efficiency and innovation in quoting, program execution, and new product development. Serving as a key liaison between customers, engineering, manufacturing, and internal support teams, this role plays a vital part in scaling new programs and supporting long-term strategic growth initiatives.


Essential Functions

  • Lead and support the team in achieving sales and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and performance within the company’s capabilities.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of technical quoting models and supply chain strategies to improve accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Ensure that high-value opportunities are properly scoped, resourced, and communicated across departments.
  • Act as point of escalation for internal and external customers.
  • Provide detailed technical and program-level updates to senior leadership as needed.

  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate engineering concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional technical, supply chain or account management teams.
  • High level of accountability, urgency, and ownership of customer and program outcomes.
  • Comfortable making informed decisions, even when they may be unpopular or require trade-offs.


Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises a team of technical professionals and acts as a subject matter expert within the sales organization. Responsible for performance management, technical development, and strategic alignment of the team.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) or 10 years of equivalent technical experience in engineering, supply chain, or technical sales.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in leadership or technical sales management.
  • Experience in precision manufacturing is a plus.

Position Details

Full-time, salaried position. Salary starts at $109,000, but final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Occasional travel may be required to support customer engagement.
