Human Resource Specialist
The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a qualified and motivated Human Resources Specialist to join our administrative team. This position serves as the primary HR liaison for the department and is responsible for a variety of personnel and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources administration, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent internal service.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the departmental liaison for human resources and payroll matters
- Prepare and process new hire paperwork and employee change documentation
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and track sick/annual leave balances
- Enter and validate payroll data; prepare and submit personnel change forms and CV360 requisitions
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, personnel files, certifications, and background checks
- Register employees for training programs and maintain detailed participation and compliance logs
- Assist in on-boarding and provide procedural training to new or existing employees
- Communicate with internal departments, county agencies, external organizations, and the public regarding HR matters
- Assist the HR Director with the administration of FMLA, unemployment claims, and other sensitive personnel issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and county regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clerical support or customer service in a human resources setting
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Experience with Oracle HR systems and CV360 or similar HRIS platforms
- Prior HR experience in a government or public service setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized, with strong time management and multitasking capabilities
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check
