Unarmed Security Officer - Part Time

The persons in this position will maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and co-workers by patrolling, monitoring premises, and performing search procedures. Working Days: Fri-Sun
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

(Please note - hours can fluctuate slightly but the officer will know of their schedule in advance.)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and monitor the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to maintain the security and safety of the premises.
• Maintain a strong visible presence among visitors, patrons, and employees to enforce order and protect property.
• Conduct regular foot patrols and surveillance of industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, promptly responding to emergency situations and providing security assistance as required.
• Prepare detailed narrative reports and oversee the maintenance of daily activity reports (DARs).
• Monitor and report irregular or unusual activity, implementing appropriate measures to address any identified risks.
• Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Reports directly to Director of Security

• CCTV
• Access Control
• Fire System Operation
• Hold-Up Security System Operation
• Report Writing (Daily Activity Report and Incident Reports)
• Foot Patrols
• Dealing with unwanted/hostile individuals.
• Metal Detector Operation and Bag Searches.
• Crowd/line control

Qualifications:

• Must Posses Active California Guard Card
• CPR/AED Certification not requried, but desired
• Required minimum 2 years of Security experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient computer skills are required (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Open availability to work all shifts and schedules.
• Must possess reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong leadership abilities and the ability to effectively motivate and guide a team.
• Ability to make clear decisions during crisis or high-stress periods.
• May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature.
• Must be reliable, demonstrate a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior.
