Our client, a tier I supplier of aerostructure components and commercial business jet aircraft, is seeking a Manufacturing Process & Configuration Engineer in Nashville, TN.
Must have aerospace experience (preferably aerospace structures)
Must have experience creating work instructions
The Manufacturing Process & Configuration Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods and controls; and coordinating manufacturing launches for new or revised products.
Responsibilities
Adapts machine or assembly designs to factory and production conditions.
Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
Provides guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Review engineering changes from the customer and internal changes for applicable manufacturing and procurement impact.
Performs engineering change board, interfaces with customers and suppliers.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with 5 years of experience.
Previous Aerospace / Aircraft manufacturing industry experience is required.
Must have strong computer skills and have the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to interpret & read blueprints & cad models.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
A good understanding of metallic structures, machining / processing, corrective action and supply chain processes is preferred.
Must have experience in Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), MRP, Manufacturing Planning Systems and Change Management.
