Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising neurosurgeon in the OR
- Conduct physical exams, pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications
- Manage patient care in inpatient, outpatient, and clinic setting
- Evaluate patient problems in person or via phone and provide appropriate intervention or referral
- Counsel patients and their families on preventive health care
- Plan treatment and document information using eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure efficient data management using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Responsible for coding and compliance regarding charges generated
- Collaborate with the neurosurgeon to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Texas licensed & Board-Certified Physician Assistant
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
- The PA will be currently licensed to practice as a physician assistant in the State of Texas and maintain such license in good standing at all times
- The PA will report to the physician and will be responsible for meeting CME requirements to maintain certification and licensure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
