What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopic Technician position at Providence Swedish?

Description

Under the direction of a Charge RN, prepares all equipment for endoscopic procedures, cleans equipment properly using appropriate protocols and procedures, prepares equipment for repair and tracks repairs, and assists in all Endoscopic procedures for the proper operation Gastroenterology Endoscopic unit. Accountable for demonstrating knowledge of principles and practice of aseptic techniques, and all Quality assurance activities related to infection control and disinfection/sterilization of endoscopic equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification. Or
  • Upon hire: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License. Or
  • Upon hire: Washington Surgical Technologist Registration.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Within 1 year of hire GI Scope Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year Previous experience required to include scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room.
