The Providence Tour Company is a young tourism start-up looking for fresh energy. The company was formed for the main reason of showing off the hidden gem that is Providence. Becoming a tour guide with the Providence Tour Company will give you an incredible opportunity to learn more about the city, practice your public speaking/customer service skills, and make a competitive hourly wage.
The ideal candidate is a person who is capable of operating independently, solving unexpected issues and handling emergency situations, and also has the ability to clearly explain and answer questions. The Tour Guide will possess extensive knowledge about our history and culture in addition to the ability to walk an assigned route for a full day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Show up for your tour reliably and early, and greet guests with a can-do attitude
- Learn about the history and culture of Providence
- Demonstrate a positive attitude in all situations, regardless of whether you are having a good day
- Learn what to say when addressing foreign tourists and make them feel welcome
- Plan routes around traffic patterns and through tourist attractions
- Keep to a schedule in order to meet with other groups at prearranged times and places
- Coordinate with tour business partners before and during the tour experience
