Providence is calling a Supervisor Diagnostic Imaging (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR

We are seeking a Supervisor Diagnostic Imaging - Diagnostic Imaging Adm Support that will perform all duties of a diagnostic imaging technologist / sonographer (including direct patient care) with expanded responsibilities of overseeing daily operations in multiple care environments; ensures policies and procedures are developed, utilized and maintained to adhere to organizational and regulatory requirements; assists manager in ensuring that the service functions and caregivers are in compliance with regulations / guidelines set forth by accrediting bodies, payors and professional licensing organizations; demonstrates organization and leadership of meetings, manual review and creation / oversight of posted communications. In addition, they are the primary resource for caregiver orientation, development, and ongoing satisfaction.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Service Expectation:
  • Prioritize work to meet customer needs in a timeframe consistent with their expectations
  • Assist in the development and marketing of programs and services, ensuring that operations are efficient and cost-effective
  • Anticipate potential needs and initiate appropriate planning and / or solutions
  • Recognize and resolve technical, clerical, and communication issues
  • Participate in planned community events / public relations activities which promote services, consumer education, and prevention
  • In conjunction with director / manager, seek opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Relations:
  • Participate in screening, interviewing, and selecting caregivers in conjunction with manager and/or director
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to promote a positive work environment and assist caregivers in effective conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently, and build strong working relationships with a wide variety of medical staff, management, clinical caregivers, and non-clinical caregivers
  • Department Operations:
  • Oversee daily operations in multiple care environments
  • Ensure policies and procedures are developed, utilized and maintained to adhere to organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Assist manager in ensuring diagnostic imaging services and caregivers are in compliance with regulations / guidelines set forth by accrediting bodies, payors, and professional licensing organizations
  • Requires organization and leadership of meetings, in addition to ensuring appropriate communication
  • Budget:
  • Maximize productivity by optimizing utilization of caregiver resources through review of department reports / schedules to meet service expectations and budgetary targets
  • Assist director / manager in preparing annual budget; participate in forecasting volumes, capital equipment, supplies, space and staffing needs
  • In conjunction with the director / manager, perform all activities necessary to achieve the operational and financial targets of the department, as defined by the budget

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Current certification by one or more of the following credentialing bodies:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current Oregon Licensure from the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI)
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Certification
  • Five (5) years of working as a diagnostic imaging technologist / sonographer
  • Two (2) years in a leadership (i.e. Supervisor, Coordinator, or Lead) capacity in an Imaging Department
  • Computer skills and knowledge of keyboard functionality
  • Knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, -OR- applicable field
