What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Prowess Consulting?
Prowess Consulting is looking for an experienced Project Manager to help one of our local clients manage their online database system that tracks metadata about data structures, protocols, file formats, and algorithms, supporting multiple stakeholder within the organization.
We are looking for a self-starter who can take charge and own the processes required to ensure timely and accurate database information and production standards are met. This is an exciting opportunity with a great company and a fun team!
- Work with engineering teams to establish deadlines and resolve issues within established timelines
- Keep internal business database systems data up to date using a variety of standard and proprietary tools
- Attend program planning meetings
- Manage program reviews
- Escalate issues to business owners in a timely manner when necessary
- Coordinate work across the organization, including working with database users, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Participate in cross-team meetings with key stakeholders, including legal, engineering, end users, and other database users across the organization
- Develop detailed specifications on database enhancements for new features and requirements
- Review and prioritize user feedback, bugs, and change requests with engineering and other key stakeholders
- Verify bugs are fixed and change requests and feature updates are implemented according to specification, and close open tickets as appropriate
- Manage database release timeline and process
- Provide regular database reports to management for releases
- Own stakeholder communication on release timeline and data support
- Manage reporting for database tool usage and issues
- Meet agreed-upon response times for support requests
- Quickly resolve high-priority issues identified by users or stakeholders
- Present business intelligence reports, which requires understanding of the data model
- Communicate database system outages and planned maintenance to users and stakeholders
- Submit and follow up on tickets for customer issues and support tasks
Skills
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite of tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with collaboration tools, such as SharePoint and Teams
- Solid understanding of Power BI
- Experience with VSTS and similar tools
