For PUC National is a non-profit organization that serves to promote, support, benefit, replicate, and carry out the purposes and mission of Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools).

We have a contractual relationship with Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools) to provide a variety of support services to the schools in NE Los Angeles and the NE San Fernando Valley. This includes, but are not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Operations, IT and Data Management, facilities identification and acquisition, fundraising, grant management, college access, alumni relations, charter development and renewal, and compliance.

Job Purpose

The ideal Facilities Technician believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC National and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection and collaboration to ensure schools’ success across the organization. The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities Director and will oversee the maintenance and upkeep for school sites in the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and responsibilities, listed but not limited, below:

• Analyze maintenance needs necessary to establish standards for all effective preventive maintenance and ground maintenance programs
• Collaborate with Facilities Director and/or Facilities Coordinator to determine appropriate school improvements and required repairs.
• Oversee any remodels, repairs, or other related work authorized by the Facilities Director
• Coordinate with school Leaders and/or Facilities Director to ensure all projects are completed with safety in mind
• Coordinate with Facilities Coordinator to receive and track work order requests and ensure the timely completion of work orders
• Understands and adheres to OSHA regulations as well as health and safety best practices
• Oversee and ensure all schools are clean and meeting maintenance expectations
• Conduct repairs as necessary
• Work with various stakeholders in a professional manner
• Attend meetings and workshops as assigned; perform work demonstrations as appropriate
• Ensures the workplace is safe for themselves and others at the school sites
• Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position

Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above
• 1-2 years minimum of construction or building maintenance experience
• Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment
• Climbing ladders and contact with cleaning agents and chemicals
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 100 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.

Salary & Benefits

• Hourly commensurate with experience ($17-$24 per hour). This position is non-exempt.
