What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach - Head HS Flag Football Girls (Effective 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR) position at Pueblo High School?
SUMMARY
Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Valid Arizona Substitute Certificate OR Valid Arizona Coaching Certificate (Sport Specific) AND
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
OR
- Coach Level 1 (If using to qualify for varsity head coach position in lieu of teaching/coaching certificate) Which includes: NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Protecting Students from Abuse, Sudden Cardiac Arrest
In addition to the above, all coaches (varsity head coach & assistant coaches) must have current certifications:
Current CPR w/AED (On-line certificates are not accepted; EMT certificate supersedes this requirement)
Current First Aid Certificates (On-line certificates are not accepted; EMT certificate supersedes this requirement)
Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming PowerPoint was reviewed)

Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training (True North Logic course # 15131)*
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRE
Bloodborne Pathogen Training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization

Season Dates: 8/11/25 to 11/22/25
Fall - August into November
Winter - November into February
Spring - February into May
STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.
This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
