Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the medical office or dental office.
- Schedule appointments for patients, including follow-up visits and referrals to specialists.
- Collect and verify patient information, such as insurance details and medical history.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Maintain patient records and update information in the electronic medical records system.
- Handle billing and insurance claims, ensuring accurate coding and submission.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and organizing documents.
Skills:
- Experience in medical scheduling or dental receptionist role preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
- Strong front desk and customer service skills, with the ability to provide excellent patient service.
- Familiarity with medical office or dental office systems, such as Eaglesoft or similar software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage patient records accurately.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
