What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Pumpkin Patch Childcare and Learning Center?
We are growing and in need of a Preschool Teacher.
Lead teachers are responsible for the care, supervision and management of a class of children in accordance with the State of CT Licensing Regulations. Principal duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, implementing a play-based curriculum, forming nurturing bonds that support the cognitive and social/emotional development of each child, partnering with parents and families, managing classroom routines and activities.
This is a single teacher position, where you will be the main teacher in your own classroom. You will be responsible for 6-10 children a day.
Duties
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Manage classroom using positive behavior management strategies
- Create emotionally responsive classroom environment
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children
- Adhere to all state regulations and statues
- Responsible for building nurturing relationships with children and their families
- Plan and implement curriculum and monitor each child's developmental progress
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Demonstrate professionalism
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Childcare experience
Nice To Haves
Associates in ECE/related field or currently obtaining-preferred but not required
CDA or Head Teacher-preferred but not required.
