What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant - Full-Time position at Purcell Municipal Hospital?
Purcell Municipal Hospital is interviewing for full-time Lab Assistant.
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Lab Assistant must:
- demonstrate competence in phlebotomy skills
- understand and perform specimen collection procedures for all age groups
- be competent to perform loading and unloading of lab specimens from automated and non-automated instrumentation, as well as perform various waived testing
- perform basic clerical and customer service duties with initiative, kindness, and professionalism
- have full range of body motion including handling and assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and hearing acuity
- inventory of supplies
- assist with instrument maintenance
- responsible for preparing outsourced testing
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum High School/GED
- related experience inclusive of on the job or classroom training in phlebotomy
- Basic office skills, including PC, keyboarding, and office equipment
- Medical terminology
Phlebotomy certification and minimum of 6 months phlebotomy work experience is preferred.
Salary : $24,500 - $31,000
