Description
- Assist in event/banquet room setup prior to start of event
- Prepare coffee or snack breaks and stations with appropriate foods and beverages as stated in the Banquet Event Order
- Prepare banquet tables with applicable place settings
- Serve plated meals to guests and respond to requests for beverages and other needs
- Ensure that dishes are cleared from guest tables in a timely, efficient manner after each meal course is served
- Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests
- Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware and flatware
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the kitchen
- Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency in presentation
- Clean up venue at end of event and assist with other closeout tasks/sidework as assigned by Events Manager or Conference & Events Director
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous waitstaff experience a plus
- Knowledge of catering practices preferred
- Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
- All staff under 18 must have a worker’s permit provided by your local school district
