The Legal Counsel will assist in the resolution of disputes and manage litigation/arbitration, while reviewing and interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business/external stakeholders. This position reports to the Sr. Legal Counsel.

The Legal Counsel role will be responsible for providing in-house legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including contracts, employment law, customs and trade law, and compliance. The Legal Counsel will assist in the resolution of disputes and manage litigation/arbitration, while reviewing and interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business/external stakeholders. This position reports to the Sr. Legal Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and guidance to the business team and management on a variety of legal issues.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes, including disputes with commercial parties.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the company with their specialized legal services.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, including purchase agreements, sales agreements, service agreements, and lease agreements.
- Design, build, and improve legal team processes.
- Consult and protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations.
- Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or an equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- A member in good standing with a state bar association.
- 1-3 years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).
- Professional legal experience handling legal disputes such as litigation and arbitration.
- 3 years of experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm (or a combination of both).
- Bilingual (Korean & English).
- Experience in the solar industry, energy sector, or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in managing construction disputes.
- Ability to follow directions effectively while demonstrating the ability to take initiative and contribute ideas when appropriate.
- Collaborative and able to work well within a team environment, balancing the ability to receive guidance and offer support to colleagues.
