What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ink Technician position at QPS Employment Group?
Position Title : Ink Technician
Wage : $28-$33 / hour
Shift : Day
Hours : 6 : 30am-2 : 30pm Monday-Friday
QPS has an amazing direct hire Ink Technician position available in North Kansas City. Previous experience in working with inks, printing, color is a must. Preferred experience in the corrugated industry and / or as a Press Department Operator. Please contact our local office to begin the steps to your next career move.
Ink Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Use a spectrophotometer
- Order or initiate orders for the various ink bases
- Assist operator in attaining the correct ink color on the sheet being printed
- Coordinate with production scheduler the correct ink and the correct amount of ink to have to produce all orders
- Perform end-of-month inventories of all inks and ink bases
- Keep ink kitchen clean and organized all times
- Maintain accuracy of scales for weighing ink
- Train operators in the operation of the ink kitchen and the adjustment of inks on press to maintain proper quality of print
- Monitor non-use of various inks and report on a monthly basis
- Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to : Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data
- When inks become inactive work-off into black ink or some other color, if possible
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
- Adhere to production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals; report any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor
- Additional duties may be assigned by management
