What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker K-12 position at Quabbin Regional School District?
Quabbin Regional School District is seeking an experienced clinician who has DESE certification (social worker or adjustment counselor). Experience with IEP development, aspen database, conducting clinical assessments and working collaboratively with program clinicians/teachers is required. In addition, this position requires experience with alternative programs, competency based curriculum and project based curriculum, behavior and safety plans, establishing positive relationships with students, and an ability to provide for counseling & social/emotional needs of students as they pertain to educational programming.
Additional responsibilities include:
a) Evaluates students to determine individual student needs; services students in all grades who have been diagnosed with social, emotional and/or behavioral issues that limit their ability to access curriculum in the general education setting.
b) Attends team meetings and writes goals and objectives for IEPs
c) Develops and oversees district parent outreach programs
d) Assists with crisis intervention, assessment and referral, as needed
e) Communicates with state agencies (DCF, DMH, DDS, Mass Rehab, Medical Community)
f) Collaborates and partners with families
g) Provides professional development and consultation for faculty as needed
h) Communicates with guidance counselors, adjustment counselors, school psychologists, nurse, and other staff members, as needed
i) Counsels students on caseload
j) Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so
k) Continues with personal professional development
l) Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required
