What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Specialist position at Quality DME, Inc.?

The Patient Care Specialist within the Resupply Department is the entry point to such growth.
Responsibilities:
· Process medical equipment supply orders using Electronic Medical Database Software
· Answer and respond to patient phone calls
· Submit authorizations for equipment as needed
· Utilize inter-and-cross-departmental communication to maintain goals and objectives
· Reach out to patients as requested by physicians
Expectations:
· Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
· Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
· Proficiency in communication, both written and verbal
· Handle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
This is a full-time position in our office, Monday through Friday, 8:30am- 5:30pm.
