What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Captain position at Quality Kosher Catering?

Quality Kosher Catering has been servicing the Greater Detroit Area with the highest level of food and service since 1966. We are a locally owned family business with a passion for growth and building connections with our team and clients.
We are looking to add a Hybrid Banquet Captain to our events team. This is a great opportunity to join a talented fun team and work on some of the coolest events with the best venues in the city!
The Banquet Captain will have multiple responsibilities in supporting the events team and taking care of our clients including some of the following:

- Provide 5 Star service to clients and guests during event execution
- Specify and communicate staff requirements and coordinate their responsibilities
- Proactively handle any issues and troubleshoot any problems
- Have working knowledge of all menu items and timeline of events
- Communicate with host upon arrival and throughout the event
- Must complete pre-shift and post-shift meetings
- Inspect that all banquet staff are in full, appropriate uniform prior to shift line-up.
- Contribute to Quality Kosher Catering in a way that helps to improve everything we do
- Conduct post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
- Lead server training sessions and attend any meetings scheduled by management

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.
- Minimum 1 year of Banquet Captain experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft computer software - Office, Excel, PowerPoint
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires full mobility for entire duration of shift, including walking and standing for a period of up to eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to bend and reach.
Salary : $24 - $28
