1st Shift Forklift Driver/Material Handler

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-energy role where everyone works together to ensure accuracy and success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating propane industrial forklifts to load and unload trailers safely, efficiently, and correctly. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Distribute weight correctly while loading pallets and containers onto outbound trailers from nose to tail.
• Load outgoing full truck loads and LTL loads with finished product. An LTL may be only 1 or 2 pallets onto a box truck, while a full load may be over 100 pallets of various sizes onto a 53-foot trailer.
• Unload incoming product and weigh count to verify against incoming pack slips.
• Put away pallets, baskets and tubs of finished product in the warehouse.
• Stack pallets, racks and tubs correctly.
• Operate the scales.
• Operate banding equipment to band finished parts onto pallets so they can be moved safely.
• Material handling, order pulling, and other duties associated within the shipping/receiving department.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse operations and improve efficiency.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safety of product, equipment and other associates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating forklifts to load and unload trailers in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation is essential.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of materials handling processes within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.
• Must possess an attention to detail.
• A valid forklift operator certification is preferred but can be obtained through training provided by the company.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. the employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
