Lab Support Clerk

Overview

Lab Support Clerk - Pompano Beach, FL - Monday - Friday - 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Under direct supervision, the Lab Support Clerk provides general clerical support services.  This includes filing of all pathology slides, daily mail distribution and maintenance of the postage machine. 

Responsibilities

• Maintaining an organized filing system for all pathology slides. 
• Pulls slides as requested by physician for deepers. 
• Files physicians request forms for deepers/special stains/problem resolutions. 
• Sends duplicate slides to referring physicians 
• Pulls requisitions for all departments when requested and returns requisitions to file. 
• Sorts and delivers interoffice mail daily. 
• Posts all outgoing mail and maintains postage machine. 
• Assisting other departments with clerical functions when available including filing requisitions and organizing filing cabinets. 
• Maintains QA reviews of outside path reports and files with corresponding requisition. 
• Returns slides to file when received back from outside facilities & documents the return in the computer system. 
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. 
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager, Director or Physicians.
