Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a Materials Research Coordinator at our aerospace location in Rockford, IL. The primary focus of this role is to create full material disclosures for current and legacy aerospace products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review CAD models and drawings for item mass as well as material and coating specification information
- Cross reference material specification information to obtain percentage composition material data for substances
- Enter above material data into a database for reporting and use by supply chain team
- Research standards and material databases when cross-reference lists are inadequate.
- Update cross-reference lists for future aid.
- Conduct minor analyses to close data gaps that may include using basic geometry or modeling to determine part volume, weighing parts, communicating with suppliers.
Work Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education & experience:
- Must have HS Diploma/GED with college coursework or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in purchasing or materials management
- Excellent data entry skills, research skills, attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Creo View/Creo Parametric to interrogate/review CAD models for mass and material information.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings and/or blueprints
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Must be proficient in error free data entry.
