Position Description: Position Summary
The Vice President, SOCOM Mission Support, is responsible for leading the capture, growth, and strategic alignment of all business development initiatives focused on U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This executive will own all phases of the SOCOM pipeline from opportunity identification and shaping, through capture and proposal development, to contract award. The VP will work closely with delivery, proposal, and technical solutioning teams to ensure alignment of capabilities with emerging customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own SOCOM Growth Portfolio: Build, manage, and lead the SOCOM opportunity pipeline in collaboration with the CGO and VP of BD Ops, including opportunity qualification, gate reviews, and win strategy development.
- Customer Engagement: Establish and maintain high-trust relationships with key SOCOM personnel including command leadership, contracting officers, program managers, and requirements owners.
- Teaming and Partnerships: Work with the VP of BD Ops to identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships, including subcontractors, small business partners, and joint venture participation.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze SOCOM-specific mission priorities, budget trends, and upcoming requirements to inform growth planning and investment decisions.
- Proposal Leadership: Serve as executive sponsor or key contributor on proposals related to SOCOM opportunities; provide technical and strategic input to ensure compliant, compelling submissions.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate across delivery, pricing, recruiting, contracts, and marketing teams to align resources and ensure readiness for capture execution and program transition.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in business development, program leadership, or capture management focused on DOD, preferably USSOCOM or other SOF components.
- Demonstrated success in capturing or managing multi-million-dollar SOCOM or similar DOD contracts, preferably involving human performance, health services, or mission support.
- Deep understanding of the USSOCOM enterprise, including JSOC, service components, and supporting directorates (e.g., PEO-SOFSA, G9).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive briefing skills.
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
