Job description:
Now Hiring Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provide essential respiratory care services at California Correctional Facilities on a temporary/relief basis. Competitive pay, secure work environment, and a rewarding opportunity to make a difference!
Experience:
- Minimum 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years in a public or private institution, performing similar services.
Licensure & Certification:
- Must possess and maintain a current and valid license issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California.
- Must hold a credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (Co ARC or predecessor JRC-RTE).
Compliance:
- Must meet 8 CCR 5199 standards for N95/PAPR medical clearance and complete annual respiratory protection training, including updates to PLHCP clearance if medically required.
Language Proficiency:
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Institution CEO/CME or designee, the Respiratory Care Practitioner shall:
- Deliver care based on evidence-based practices.
- Set up and instruct patients on the use of respiratory equipment.
- Conduct medical evaluations and recommend treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely charting (delinquencies over 10 days may result in termination).
- Assist in developing respiratory therapy policies and procedures.
- Evaluate equipment needs and submit recommendations.
- Participate in in-service trainings and provide necessary documentation.
- Support quality improvement and special projects as assigned.
