GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Tool Room Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the inventory and cleanliness of a tool room, including issuing, receiving, inspecting, and storing tools and equipment, while keeping accurate records of their distribution and condition, often requiring basic repair skills and ensuring the overall organization of the tool room to facilitate efficient service to the shop floor.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES/QUALITIES
Purchasing:
- Purchasing experience is preferred
- Utilize VB to process and verify POs/REQs as needed
- Expedite outstanding vendor POs weekly
- Obtain multiple vendor bids and evaluate strategic purchasing solutions
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships
Inventory
- Inventory experience preferred
- Manage and evaluate MIN/MAX data for CAP machines and external locations
- Maintain inventory integrity
- Stock CAP machines weekly
- Communicate with MSC tech for machine repairs or maintenance
- Utilize SPS CAP Utilities and MSC Web Portal
- Review and evaluate usage reports
- Review and provide recommendations for consumables and tooling to increase productivity
- Manage uniform rental program
- Distribute, collect, and document company tooling
- Review and evaluate usage reports
- Train new hires on the CAP machine process
Qualities:
- Personality – Outgoing, Energetic, Self-Motivated
- Must work well in both teams and individual settings
- Good organizational skills and attention to details
- Must have ability to multi-task
- Machine/fab shop knowledge preferred
- Independent and work with minimal supervision
EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Computer skills / Excel, Microsoft Suite
- Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Everyday standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping
- Everyday lifting 25-50 lbs.
