Technical Supervisor

The Technical Supervisor at Radiant Technology Group is responsible for overseeing the installation teams, ensuring that audio-visual projects are executed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role involves direct site supervision, conducting training and certifications, performing site surveys, quality control visits, managing technical escalations, and providing mentorship to staff. The Technical Supervisor plays a critical role in day to day management of installation staff. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strong communication abilities to effectively manage and support the team and ensure successful project outcomes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Site Supervision and Installation

Description: Oversee the daily operations at installation sites to ensure projects are executed according to plan.

Tasks Involved:

• Coordinate and manage installation teams.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues.

Expected Outcome: Projects are completed on time and within budget, with minimal technical issues, ensuring high client satisfaction.

Conduct Training and Task Certifications In-house or on Jobsites

Description: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure team members are skilled and certified.

Tasks Involved:

• Create and update training materials.
• Conduct training sessions and task certifications.
• Maintain records of training and certifications.

Expected Outcome: Team members are well-trained and certified, leading to improved performance and reduced errors.

Site Surveys, Quality Control Visits & Technical Escalations

Description: Perform site surveys and quality control visits to maintain high standards and manage technical escalations.

Tasks Involved:

• Conduct initial and ongoing site surveys to assess project requirements.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards.
• Handle and resolve technical issues that are escalated.

Expected Outcome: Projects meet quality standards and technical issues are promptly resolved, minimizing disruptions.

Mentorship and Coaching

Description: Provide mentorship and coaching to junior staff to enhance their skills and performance.

Tasks Involved:

• Conduct regular mentoring sessions.
• Develop individualized training plans for team members.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.

Expected Outcome: Installation staff improve their skills and performance continuously over time, leading to a more competent and efficient team.

Internal Meetings (L-10's, L-1's, Project Briefings, etc.)

Description: Lead internal meetings to ensure productive and effective use of time.

Tasks Involved:

• Plan and organize meeting agendas.
• Facilitate discussions and ensure all relevant topics are covered.
• Follow up on action items and ensure accountability.

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of audio-visual equipment, systems, and industry standards. Capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues efficiently, ensuring seamless project execution. Stays updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the audio-visual field, applying this knowledge to improve system performance and project outcomes.

Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications, providing clear guidance and support to the installation team. Ensures that all technical aspects of projects are executed to the highest quality, maintaining the integrity and functionality of audio-visual systems.

Advanced troubleshooting skills

Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across various AV systems and components. This skill will ensure the Technical Supervisor can provide appropriate guidance to field staff in the event of a technical issue during install or commissioning.

Technical Documentation

Ability to create and interpret detailed technical documentation, including system designs, schematics, and user manuals. Ensures accurate planning, execution, and maintenance of AV installations.

CTS-I

OSHA30

Project Management for AV (AVIXA)
