Summary: The Systems Administrator position provides system administration for workstations, servers, and various network and infrastructure devices, including installation/imaging, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and maintain the server, network, and firewall systems.
- Consult with users and conduct information assessments to determine user needs and to define systems requirements with management as they apply to best practices for setup and maintenance.
- Assesses the effectiveness and maintenance of hardware, software, and communications performance to end-users for specific systems.
- Coordinates acquisition of hardware, software, and services.
- Define and document best practices and support procedures.
- Provide after-hours support as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
- Coordinates and verifies system image and data backup utilities.
- Assists in the development and deployment of telephone and voice recognition systems.
- Provides desktop and user support for all departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of IT training, education, and experience
- A or Net (preferred)
- MCP or MCSE (preferred)
- Four (4) years of Microsoft systems administration experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products and operating systems
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and network devices and topologies.
- Proficient knowledge of wireless devices, printers, servers, desktops, and laptops
- Excellent customer service experience
- Direct experience with training multiple users in software applications
- Ability to prioritize work and responsibilities
- Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
- Must be a team player
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
This individual must be available for a flexible work schedule to perform routine and planned network administration and development. The majority of work time is performed around the normal business hours of the imaging center; there is the exception of maintenance and administration of systems not in use after hours.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are those associated with systems and network operations. Light lifting, carrying, and maneuvering is performed routinely around workstations and computer room areas. Use of stepladders and cable routing is performed on an as-needed basis.
